Meet the Staff

Our treatment coordinators work closely with the doctor on certain aspects of the patients’ treatment. They instruct patients in proper oral hygiene, teach patients how to use orthodontic appliances and maintain the highest standard and compliance in sterilization procedures. The front desk receptionists will provide assistance at your consultations and introduce you to our office, schedule appointments, receive payments and maintain patient records. Our insurance and financial coordinators are available to assist with your insurance forms and concerns with financial arrangements. All such matters are STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL. Karen Dental Hygienist/Orthodontic Technician When you meet Karen, you are introduced to 18 years of experience. Karen is one of our dental hygienists, and we have been lucky to have at our office for seven of those years. What Karen has brought to our office is professionalism, caring and a commitment to the pursuit of orthodontic excellence that we strive for. We believe that Karen’s bright smile and caring concern makes all our patients, from children to adults, feel at ease from their first visit to the last. Barbara Dental Hygienist/Orthodontic Technician Barbara has been a part of our team since May 2004. Barbara brings to our office 17 years experience working in the field of orthodontics. Barbara is the mother of three sons. Two of them are attending college and her youngest son is in high school. Although you can see she was a busy mom, she found time to graduate from SUNY Farmingdale’s Dental Hygiene Program in 1989. Barbara has aided our practice with adding to the family unity we represent. Barbara knows many of the patients and their families personally due to the fact that she is raising her family in the same town as our West Islip location. Barbara enjoys her work environment. She has blended into the tempo of our office and offers knowledge to our patients when it comes time to explain their new appliances (since her own children have had many of them). She looks forward to working with Dr. Joe and assisting him in creating that wonderful smile you always wanted. Holly Dental Hygienist/Orthodontic Technician Holly is a native of Bay Shore, she began working for Dr. Vitagliano in September of 2005. After Receiving a B.A. from Stony Brook University,she went on to become a Registered Dental Hygienist upon completing the Dental Hygiene program at Farmingdale State College. Holly believes that laughter is the key to happiness and she takes pride in providing people with a beautiful and confident smile. She is a very special addition and team player in our pursuit of orthodontic excellence. Linda Treatment Coordinator Linda is one of our treatment coordinators. It is Linda’s job to work as a Liaison for the doctor and explain to the patient their individual orthodontic treatment plan. She understands that every patient has individual needs and she is passionate about making sure you leave after your first visit as informed as possible. Her compassionate nature and bright smile help take the worry and apprehension out of starting your new orthodontic adventure. Linda also performs a multitude of tasks in order to make our office a fun place to visit. She believes that a fun office keeps patients, especially young ones, looking forward to each appointment. She plans all the fun activities that go on not only in the office, but outside as well. Linda is not only an employee, but also a parent of four of our adored patients. She is committed to treating patients as extensions of our "ortho" family. Linda shows up to our office daily, with that team enthusiasm that has helped our office achieve excellence in orthodontics. Christina Treatment Coordinator Christina is one of our treatment coordinators. Christina is here to help assist the doctor with your first visit. Her job is to help the doctor educate each patient and explain her diagnosis and treatment. We believe that Christina’s bright smile and caring concern will make you feel comfortable on your first visit to the orthodontist. Christina enjoys meeting people and makes each and every patient feel special. Christina contributes to the overall atmosphere that we are one big family working together. Christina loves being a part of such a special team of men and women, which makes her few days away from her husband and children a little easier. Donna Financial Coordinator Donna brings to this office a wealth of insurance experience. She has been a team player since 1997. Her ability to multitask finds her presenting contracts, sitting at the front desk, all while handling all aspects of your insurance and minimizing your out-of-pocket expense. Donna is married and, together with her husband, has raised three beautiful daughters. Donna enjoys working with the patients and will jump at the chance to answer any concerns you might have regarding your accounts. Donna is willing to take on any new task presented to her, which makes her a crucial member of our team. Sue Financial Coordinator Sue is our financial expert. She has been with our practice since 2001. She works with all aspects of finance, including insurance. Sue has a way of making the difficult topic of payment arrangements a little less taxing on families. She has knowledge of orthodontic insurance and how each plan works, to help maximize your benefit and make your out-of-pocket expense more affordable. Sue is one of our key players and will make your time with us a pleasant and memorable experience. Her goal is to make sure you smile from the start of your treatment until the very end. Alicja Orthodontic Technician We were so happy when Alicja joined our team. Alicja is bilingual and speaks Polish and English. Alicja is one of our orthodontic assistants. She moved here from Poland and has completed our team by filling the void we had when we were unable to serve the largely growing Polish community in our area. Alicja prides herself on her professionalism and enjoys working with the patients. Orthodontics has become a passion in her life. She enjoys interacting with both the adult and young patients, getting to know them and making them feel comfortable in our office. One of the reasons Alicja is such a team player is due to the fact that she has seen the results we strive for watching her own son’s orthodontic progress here at our office. Esther Orthodontic Technician Esther has delighted our office with her knowledge of orthodontics and her professionalism for the past 11 years. Esther and her husband are so proud of each of their children, whom they raised together on Long Island. Esther loves working with patients and parents and values the importance that orthodontics plays in a patient’s self-esteem. Esther appreciates the long-term relationships she has built with Dr. Joe, the patients, their families and the entire staff. Her goal is to make everyone she meets feel special and she is a positive contributor to the pleasant and happy atmosphere that we have created in our office. Marisol Orthodontic Technician After you meet Marisol, you are sure to smile. She is one of our orthodontic technicians and she will ease you into braces. Marisol is a team player that enjoys watching the patients’ progress with orthodontic treatment. Her goal is to make the patients feel comfortable and let them know how special they are. In her spare time, she loves to cook. Her smiling face and friendly nature makes each patient she meets feel like they are the only patient in the office. She is a vital team player and we are excited to have her on our team. Jessica Financial  Coordinator Another Friendly face in our office is Jessica. Jessica is one of our Financial Coordinators and will guide you through setting up a financial arrangement, process your insurance claims and answer any inquiries from your insurance company. Her knowlede of protocols makes her a necessary addition to our practice. One of the special attributes about jessica is that she loves interacting with the patients and families, Her 9 1/2 years of experience in our office have helped her to perfect the art of multitasking. In fact, there are some days you might find her making your appointment at the front desk. Jessica's ability to multitask makes her a vital contributor to the smoothness of the daily operations within the office. Jennifer Scheduling Coordinator One of the first people you might speak to in our office is Jennifer. Jennifer is one of our scheduling coordinators and she is here to help with your first call. Jennifer will take all your information, schedule a convenient time for your appointment and answer any questions you may have regarding your first visit. In her spare time, she likes kickboxing, taking yoga classes and loves cooking healthy foods. Jennifer has been a smiling face at the front desk for the past five years. We are so lucky to have her on our team. Lynnae Scheduling Coordinator Lynnae is a welcomed addition to our orthodontic family and we are excited she joined our team. Lynnae is one of our scheduling coordinators and on any given day she will greet you with a smile and hello. Lynnae will set up your first appointment, welcome you on arrival and work with your busy schedule to set up a convenient time for your next appointment. Lynnae loves interacting with patients and their families and has a natural way of making each person feel special. Lynnae is the busy mother of 2 girls, who are both patients in our office. When she is not working, she is hustling off to the soccer and lacrosse fields , skiing in the winter or just relaxing at the beach in the summer. In her short time here, Lynnae has become a vital teammate in making our office achieve excellence in orthodontics. Kristina Scheduling Coordinator As you enter the office, you are greeted by one of our Past patients and now one of our scheduling coordinators, Kristina. Kristina has been a vital addition to our team. Kristina’s organizational skills and happy nature help to create the overall atmosphere that our office is a friendly place to be from the moment you walk in the front door. She will answer your call, make your appointment and help you sign in to the computer so the doctor knows you’ve arrived. Kristina adds to the high moral this office offers not only to our patients, but the staff as well. Kristina is one of our most valued employees and her ability to multitask makes this office run more smoothly. Laura Scheduling Coordinator Laura is one of our newer faces at Vitagliano Orthodontics, but she fits in like she’s been here for years! She is here to greet you as you walk in the door, schedule your appointment and to ensure your visit with us is a great experience. Her ability to multi-task is an asset and she is always available to address any of your needs and concerns. After 8 years as a General Dental Assistant, she is thrilled to have made the transition to the world of Orthodontics. When she is not answering phones and scheduling appointments, her spare time is filled with planning her 2011 wedding, caring for her 3 crazy dogs, watching her 3 nephews, or going to the beach. Laura’s positive attitude about life is an asset to our team. Lynnae Scheduling Coordinator Lynnae is a welcomed addition to our orthodontic family and we are excited she joined our team. Lynnae is one of our scheduling coordinators and on any given day she will greet you with a smile and hello. DeDe Scheduling Coordinator DeDe’s smiling face and warm personality greets you as you walk in the office. Dede is one of our scheduling coordinators. She is always available to help you schedule your next appointment and address any concerns you may have regarding your final appointment. Dede enjoys seeing the excitement on the patient’s faces as they walk in for Final adjustment and de-banding appointments. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her three young boys. Dede and her family can be found on most weekends at the local lacrosse fields and basket ball courts cheering on her children. Over the summer months Dede enjoys long Island fishing and trips to Montauk. She has become an adored member of our orthodontic office, not just by the Doctors and Staff, but by the patients and families as well. Kathy Scheduling Coordinator Another friendly face in our office is Kathy. Kathy has been a member of our front desk team for little over a year; however, she has been a member of the Vitagliano Orthodontic family tree for close to 10 years. Both of Kathy’s sons were patients here and she loves seeing their “Smiles with Style.” Although you only see her a few days per week, Kathy has become a vital team player when it comes to helping the front desk run smoothly. Katie Orthodontic Technican Another friendly face in our office is Katie. Katie is a people person and her energetic and bubbly personality makes working with her a joy. Her Loyalty and hard work is one of her stronger attributes. Katie loves helping Dr. Joe create your Smile with Style, but she is also our Field Trip Coordinator and teaches children how to care for their teeth and gums. There is a good chance that you might have already met her at your school or Scout meeting. Katie goes to many Schools teaching the children about oral hygiene and braces. Katie has a natural way of making patients feel comfortable at every visit. Her ability to Multitask makes this office run smoothly and when you meet her you will see why we are so excited to have her on our team. Kathy Orthodontic Technican We are very excited that Kathy has rejoined our team. Kathy left our office for 2 years to gain a greater understanding of Orthodontics and the methods used to create that Smile with Style. Kathy has been in the Dental Field for the last 27 years and brings to our office a great amount of experience and knowledge. She is not only one of our loved and respected technicians, but is also our Zoom Whitening Expert. Kathy is responsible for all the bright white smiles that leave our office. She enjoys watching the confidence that patient’s gain as they progress with orthodontic treatment and is committed to making sure your experience is as friendly and comfortable as possible. Kathy has greatly added to our team’s success in achieving Orthodontic Excellence. Christine Orthodontic Technican Christine has been a vital contributor to the overall feeling that our office is a friendly and fun place to be. Christine loves to see all our patients leave the building happier then when they arrived. She enjoys seeing the patient’s progression while in braces, and looks forward to assisting Dr. Joe with each patient at their appointment. Her smiling face is always there to greet you and those who meet her know right away she loves her job and working at Vitagliano Orthodontics. Christine’s knowledge of orthodontics and friendly nature makes her a pleasure to have on our team. Jennifer Orthodontic Technican When you meet Jennifer, say "Hello" or "Hola". Jennifer is our Bi-Lingual Orthontic Technician fluent in Spanish and English. Jennifer is not just one of our Orthodontic Technicians, but a former patient as well. She has a “Vitagliano Smile" the size of the sun and she uses it often. Jennifer has been in the dental field for the past 9 years as a dental Assistant and is now a welcomed member of our team. She cannot imagine doing anything else and her dreams do not end here; she is currently enrolled in school and hopes to pursue her D.D.S. Degree in the future so she can make more people "Sonrie Con Estilo" (Smile with Style). Jennifer’s professionalism paired with her love of people and knowledge in the field of dentistry is what makes her a welcomed addition to our orthodontic family. Chrissie Orthodontic Technician Chrissie has been an employee in our office since 2002. She is a compassionate and enjoys being around children; In fact, she has two young daughters of her own. Chrissie’s loyalty and hard work is one of her strongest attributes. She makes each patient feel like a movie star and helps to make them look like one too! She is always amazed and excited when patient’s treatment is complete. Chrissie prides herself on learning new things, and believes in learning as a life long activity. Currently, she enrolled in Farmingdale College working towards a degree in Dental Hygiene. Chrissie’s warm personality and love of learning has added to our team’s success in achieving Orthodontic Excellence.
