“Orthodontics is so much more than a job for me. I am blessed to be truly passionate about my career. Nothing is more rewarding than watching a young adult’s confidence soar when I take their braces off and reveal a dazzling smile. It serves as a wonderful confidence booster at a critical time in a young person’s development. I also love showing adults how easy and non-invasive orthodontics can be, and how great they can look during and after treatment with advancements like Invisalign® and clear braces. I love orthodontics because I love making people happy, boosting their confidence, and making them smile.”

Outside the office
Dr. Funt and his wife Sarah live in Setauket, where she is a teacher for Three Village Central School District. They will be welcoming their first child in November 2013, but until then, three dogs, all competitive Frisbee dogs, make their house a home.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Funt enjoys spending time with his family and friends in the great outdoors. A few of his favorite activities include boating, fishing, camping, and competing in triathlons with his wife.
A former Special Olympics swimming coach on Long Island, Dr. Funt currently participates in Give Kids a Smile day, a national dental health outreach program. He was also a member of a team of dental health-care professionals who traveled to the Pine Ridge Sioux reservation in South Dakota to provide dental care to Native Americans in need.
In the near future, Dr. Funt looks forward to participating in and hosting charitable events in his home community of Setauket.
